The Town of Hugo adopted its own, town supported, Main Street program as an economic strategic development initiative in 2019 and became a Colorado State recognized program in 2020. Hugo Main Street became a member of the National Main Street community in 2022.
Hugo Main Street is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the Town of Hugo and Colorado Main Street to assists our local government and downtown organizations through efforts of downtown revitalization and economic development. Colorado Main Street provides the framework for this work and is administered through Colorado’s Department of Local Affairs (D.O.L.A.) and funded by the State Historical Fund.
Hugo Main Street serves the purpose of enhancing Hugo’s downtown business district aesthetically, socially, and economically by supporting, encouraging and developing civic engagement, resident pride, building/business preservation, economic revitalization and development, with supporting small business and entrepreneurship as core priorities.
Our district map reflects where our efforts are focused geographically. This map is reviewed and updated on an annual basis, along with our work plan and strategies goals, to ensure our focus reflects our towns economic development needs and opportunities.
